You Make Me Smile

Hello Fellow Stampers! Hope your week is going well so far! How was your weekend? Mine was YARD WORK! YUK!!! 8 hours on Saturday and I'm so sore even today that I can hardly walk---how pitiful it is to be in this bad of shape!

Today I have a card that I made last year but never posted. It's very simple actually with no coloring other than sponging on the circles, but I think it has a big impact!

School Days

It's so hard to believe, but kids in my area are headed back to school today. Where did the summer go? Even harder to believe is that my precious little granddaughter is starting kindergarten today!!!! How can she possibly be that old already??? It was just yesterday that she was born, it seems. Kinda bitter-sweet...

Anyhow, I made gift bags (on right) for my granddaughter and grandson (he's going to pre-school as well) to give to their teachers and assistants with four cards in each bag . (That's 16 cards!!! A true labor of LOVE!!!) It took awhile, but was truly fun.

I'm not giving any card recipes for this project---it would make this post way too long and you'd get VERY bored I'm afraid! LOL!

I hope the teachers enjoy their little "Gift of Love" and enjoy sending these cards.

Do you love Edwin as much as I do??? I think he's adorable! Probably because I have a 3 yr. old and 21 month old grandsons that are "to die for" and another baby boy due Feb. 1st 2011. there is just something special about little boys!

Flowers in Green

TGIF!!! What a WONDERFUL, VERY BUSY week! VBS has been a huge success and we had a total of 248 kids---way beyond anyone's expectations. It made for alot of shuffling around, adding more classrooms, begging for more volunteers, buying lots more snacks, etc., etc. God was VERY good and like I said Monday---"If God brings them, He'll provide for them" and He did!

On to other things: I made today's card a few weeks ago for an Intermediate Copic class I taught. The class wanted to learn about airbrushing so thus the reason for this card. We airbrushed on the larger white rectangle with three colors of green Copic markers, then sprayed the stamp with Blender Solution and quickly stamped the image (so as to not let blender solution dry out) and after lifting up the stamp, the ink was removed and left the flower image. I loved how this turned out. Also like the monotone effect of this card.

Simply Irresistable!

Hi everyone! Hope all is good so far this week! First day of VBS went great! We ended up with 250 kids which is insane but I said if God brings them, He'll take care of them and he did! They all seemed to have a great time!

I'm teaching an intermediate Copic class on the 31st of July and this is one of the cards for that class. I started out making her have blonde hair, but did not like how it looked, so as I added some more color she turned out a redhead!

Living Life Right

Good Monday Morning!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and are up and ready for a new week---don't the weekends fly by???

I got the best news ever Friday afternoon---my oldest son and his bride of two years are pregnant! She is only about 4 weeks and due late Jan. 2011---we are all really excited and praying for a healthy pregnancy!

Today my card is a simple, but effective monotone card. I usually use much more color than this, so it's a little hard to stick with only one color, but I think the effect is quite nice.

Happy Thursday Fellow Stampers! Just a quick note today---I'm spending the day working on Vacation Bible School. It's actually not till July 12th, but we're trying to get a jump on it! Lots of fun AND lots of work too!

Today my card is an older one that I made last year after watching a GinaK tutorial on the bleaching technique---aren't her weekly tutorials great! I've learned so much watching them every Wednesday. This one was so easy---just put your stamp in bleach instead of ink and stamp image on darker CS. The bleached result is so pretty and looks alot more complicated than it really is! The inside sentiment says: "...makes me smile". I just love that!

Greatest Gift!

Hi Everyone! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Spring is definitely here in Central Florida and it is gorgeous! Not too warm, breezy and everything is green! I wish it were always like this! Also HAPPY TAX DAY!!! (at least I hope it's happy!)

Good Morning! Did you all have a good Monday? I went to Lacanto, FL (about and hour away) to meet two fellow StampTV friends, Lisa and Jean to visit a stamping store there and then had lunch together. It was lots of fun and always gets the "creative juices" flowing!

A "Hoot" of a Friend

Happy Monday morning! How was everyone's weekend? What a busy one I've had!
Somewhat unexpectately, we had to go to my husband's hometown in Mississippi to attend his step-brother's funeral. Very sad time. But I will say the funeral was one of the most positive and uplifting ones that I've been to! We had to fly out at 6:30 am Saturday morning and got back Sunday evening. I think I'm getting too old for all this!!! LOL!
Today's card is a cute owl that I just loved when I saw it in the stamping store---just had to have! You know how that is, I'm sure! I used Stickles on each of his feathers which really sparkles, but is hard to see well in the photo. I will use him again an again I'm sure!
